In the world of borders and classification, us and them,
Let us pray to the Lord:
Lord, hear our prayer.
Silent Prayer
Hold us, Lord:
In the cycle of sunrise and sunset,
Hold us, Lord.
In the cycle of wind and weather,
Hold us, Lord.
In the cycle of moon and tide,
Hold us, Lord.
In the cycle of time and season,
Hold us, Lord.
In the cycle of growth and decay,
Hold us, Lord.
In the cycle of breath and blood,
Hold us, Lord.
In the cycle of life and death,
Hold us, Lord.
Silent Prayer
As day gives way to night,
as colour gives way to silhouette,
as sun gives way to moon and stars,
as sky gives way to infinity,
as enlightenment gives way to groping in the dark,
as waking gives way to sleep:
Hold us and keep us in your love
and hear our prayer.
